— Tesla has unveiled a new interior design for its Model S and Model X vehicles that is reminiscent of a Japanese garden in an attempt to appeal to a new generation of buyers.
The exterior design is inspired by the architecture of the Yakima, Wash., village where the original Tesla electric cars were built.
The “Yakimas’ Design” concept is based on the village’s architecture and is inspired to mimic the design of the Model S’ interior.
Tesla has been designing cars in Yakima for the past year and has incorporated many of the design elements from the village into the new exterior design, said Tesla CEO Elon Musk in a blog post on Friday.
The design is called “Yaksima’s Design,” and it is an extension of the village where Tesla has operated since 2012.
Musk said the design “is inspired by Yakima’s rich architectural history and the unique architecture and lifestyle that Yakimas residents live in today.”
The design features “unique design elements,” such as “an ancient-style stone roof with large porches that are supported by wooden stilts” and “a stone bridge connecting the main courtyard with the main street.”
Musk said this “inspired” design is not only reflective of the “unique and beautiful architecture” of the area but also reflects the community’s “rich history and lifestyle.”
“We wanted to bring to life this unique and beautiful architectural element in the new design, which is a nod to the Yakimastans’ culture and their unique way of life,” Musk said.
“We are excited to bring this to life and are committed to making the new interior available to Yakimapas for years to come.”
The new design will be available to buyers of the first generation of Model S cars, and to those who order the Model X and Model 3 in the coming months.
“The design will appeal to those wanting a more ‘luxurious’ experience with the option of the ‘Yaksimas Style’ interior,” Musk wrote.
The interior of the cars will be “an entirely new interior that combines modern and traditional elements,” he said.
Tesla also unveiled its new interior designs for its other vehicles in China.
The company unveiled its “Yinan” exterior design earlier this year.
Musk also said he was looking forward to “coming to the US in 2019.”
Tesla will release its first-ever luxury electric vehicle in 2019.
“Our first mass-market electric vehicle, the Model 3, will be introduced in 2019,” Musk tweeted in March.
The first Model 3 will be sold in the United States through Tesla’s new website, theteslamotors.com, and through its online store.
Tesla is also planning to unveil its first production electric vehicle at a factory in Mexico later this year, which it said would “add up to an important milestone” in the transition from traditional gasoline to electric cars.
“It is my hope that Model 3 has a very positive impact on electric vehicle adoption in the U.S.,” Musk said in a statement.
Musk is also seeking to raise $5 billion to buy the remaining shares of Chinese automaker BYD.
The two companies recently announced a merger and announced a plan to build a new $4.5 billion battery factory in China to supply the electric cars of BYD’s new Model S family.
“By acquiring BYD, Tesla will further accelerate the transition to electric vehicles, and build on our growing scale and network of dealerships to reach more customers in China,” Musk and BYD said in the announcement.
“Together we will continue to be an innovative leader in battery technology and we look forward to working together to accelerate our efforts to achieve this goal.”
Tesla, BYD and Toyota also announced the merger earlier this week.
“Today, we announced the acquisition of BYDD, a leading manufacturer of battery-electric vehicles and a global leader in lithium-ion batteries,” Musk, BYP chief executive officer Yusuf Mehdi and Toyota Motor President Masayoshi Son said in their joint statement.
“In the future, we will be able to deliver more EVs in China, and we will help accelerate global adoption of electric vehicles.”
Musk told the Wall Street Journal that he expects to make $3 billion in cash, but also plans to invest at least $2 billion in new plants in China and other countries.
Tesla’s Model 3 was introduced in March, and Musk said it is expected to be the “world’s fastest-selling vehicle.”
It has a range of 310 miles (500 kilometers) and is equipped with a 320kWh battery pack.
The Model S has a more powerful battery, with a range up to 325 miles (420 kilometers).
The Model X, a smaller electric sedan, is expected in 2020.
The new cars have been on sale in the US since April.
Tesla said it will sell 1.2 million Model 3 vehicles worldwide by 2021.
Tesla will continue making electric vehicles in Japan, and the company will sell 100
